I have an iPhone 5s, I'm not a runner or anything, but heard that the M7 coprocessor doesn't use much battery.

So I've installed it, do I have to keep the app open? Or can I quit and it records steps etc anyway? When I installed it, it seemed to "remember" some off a week ago and put it on the graphs etc.

Also what does it do exactly? I'm. not a runner, so just be nice to see what it records, does it record steps? How I make it relevant to me, the real world?

Thanks

It converts movement of your phone into something akin to Unicorn pixie dust - Nike "Fuel Points".

According to their algorithms, it will then compile how much you've moved and translate that into steps, miles or "fuel points".

Yes, it runs in the background and will update your mythical number when you launch the app again.

How do you make it relevant? You can compare one day's magical number to the next, but not to a pedometer or any other type measurement. If you tried, it would be like comparing apples to elephants. If you sit there and jiggle your phone, it counts that as walking steps. Shake it enough and it'll think you're running.

So - if it motivates you to move/jiggle/shake more tomorrow than you did today, there you go. If it brands you with the red badge of failure for failing to move as much as you did yesterday, there you go also.

M7 won't drain your battery, once an app has been opened at least once that uses the M7, then you can even close the app since M7 is constantly recording even w/out an app on your phone. That is the beauty of the M7 n battery drain (almost none; you can't stop it anyways) and always recording.

So I don't need to keep the app open? Do I need to open it every 7 days at least so it syncs to the app and I don't lose the last 7 days?
