Right after installing iPadOS 14 I have 25GB left. Now, it has 10GB left. “System“ and “others” have eaten away all available storage I have left. I guess it’s time to fill the device with some stuff. Maybe it will force iOS to delete some of their own junks.

System is taking up 12.25gb and other is taking up 18.78gb on my phone. Also, even though I've only selected to sync my favourites playlist (about 200 songs) my phone has 1644 songs on it. Has anyone got any idea how to get the sync to remove these and just sync what I’ve actually selected?

My old tried and true method is connecting your iPhone to your PC and use some third party programs like iMazing or iExplorer. They can access a limited set of iOS device file system to delete synced library so that you can restart syncing. It wont damage your device otherwise, and this feature is free.

just tried iMazing, how exactly do you get rid of that space?

When you connect your device, iMazing should present you a few icons with “Music” “Files” “Camera” etc. after you select your device from the left. Then, click ”File System”.
On the next page, expand ”Media”, then “iTunes_Control”. Delete everything within that folder but leave the folder itself alone. Close iMazing, disconnect your device, restart, and try to sync again using iTunes. It will prompt you to setup as a new device or restore from backup. Choose ”setup as a new device”. Don’t worry, your iOS device will not setup itself again.

I’m only left with 3gb after the update. Had over 30gb free before this!

I thought I was the only one. Here in my case, I also got a pop up window which told me that my storage is soon to be full... However I haven't done anything except installing Beta 1.
I recently also noticed a strange thing. I currently can't backup my data in iCloud even though I have 1.1GB iCloud Storage left (3.9GB used). I exclude the photo library and when I start the backup, there is a pop up window letting me know that I will make a backup without the photo library and then it fails and tells me that I have not enough storage, although the backup itself is around 300MB. Checking the backup settings (which apps will be backuped) the photo library is automatically turned on again! So deactivating it again and doing the same thing, led to the same result. Photo library turns on after starting backup even though I deactivated it... Kinda frustrating. Does anyone have a similar problem?

Apple wants you to get a new phone with 128gb storage!! lol

When the 7 first came out. I bought a 128gb. I never exceeded 40gb. So since then I only bought 64gb for the 8 Plus, Xs, and now 11 Pro.

So, I think it may be a display bug. When I connect my 64GB iPhone 11 Pro Max to my Mac it shows my actual free space on the phone as opposed to the 1-3GB free when I look in the iPhone Storage section in Settings.

I think it must be a beta 1 bug (to be honest, one of the very few I've found). My 'System' and 'Other' are collectively eating 35GB to leave me with 3GB free on my 64GB phone. I can't see how that could be right.

I regained my space by following a post from the "iOS 14 Beta 1 - Bugs..." - To get your „other“ storage back, all you seem to have to do is make a backup, reset all settings on the device and then restore the back up you just made. Seems to have worked on two of my iPads and my iPhone - posted by itsmilo. Worked like a charm. I was just under 4gb and now I have 27gb+. Didn't take long. I did it on my Mac. Did an encrypted backup then reset the phone and restored it back.

this helped me for a couple of days. But slowly the other starts to grow again. Hopefully it gets sorted in the next update.

35GB left. I backed up, erased and restored my iPhone X. The excess amount vanished and it stayed that way

Same for me with 11Pro. First time around I had something like 30gb "Other". After full reset & restore, Other is now only 7gb...maybe the big "Other" number is the old OS in a temp partition?
