I did the Carrier Hack which is suppose to increase LTE speeds, well it did the opposite. So I followed the reversal instructions but they didn't work. I posted this in the Carrier Hack thread but nobody has replied. So I thought I'd ask the people here who aren't in that thread.

These are the files I'm after, from a Sprint iPhone 6+ without the carrier hack installed.

the files in var/mobile/Library/Carrier Bundles/iPhone

and all the files in var/mobile/Library/Carrier Bundles/iPhone/Overlay

if anyone has a free minute and feels like archiving these up for me I'd be super grateful.

Try dialing ##873283# from phone dialer, it should say "starting service update"

Wait for "service up update Complete".

Thanks I tried that but my speeds are still like dial-up. I guess I'll read up oin backing up cydia apps settings and trying a full reset.

I'd like to help, but I'm on iOS 7.1.2 on a Sprint iPhone 5.

The folder paths you list do not exist on my iPhone or are different.

Maybe you are just in a bad service area. You are using Sprint, like me. Sprint is not known to be fast. At least not by anybody that I know.

I ran Speedtest about 5 random times before I performed the hack so I could have before and after results to compare. I know speeds vary, but pre hack I was always above 3mb down and about 1.5 up. Since doing it I've ran Speedtest about 20 times and it's never above .50mb down and .20'ish up. I don't expect Verizon speeds, but before it was definitely usable and I could stream videos fine. Now everything buffers and it's just bad. Going to do a reset and hope for the best

You are the second Sprint user I've seen that has had issues with this 'carrier hack' thing.

I was able to help out the other person because they had a 5s. I guess it was close enough.

I don't like tweaks that modify carrier settings (I am afraid to be in the spot you are now in). So far, this is reinforcing the decision of mine to stay away from this.

Sorry I can't help.

Thanks, I did a full reset and re-jail broke my phone. After loading the stock 8.1.2 IPSW I ran 4 Speedtests 1 was pretty decent 3 were sloooow like after the hack and even the decent one wasn't great compared to my best tests. This was at 3AM so I can't imagine network load played a part. I'm confused because whatever the hack changed should have been completely overwritten by the firmware restore.

I guess now my only option is to remove the jail break and take it to a Sprint store

Call Sprint first to make sure it's not just some maintenance on your local tower. Also, weather can be a factor. I'd give a call, just be sure it's the phone.

Very wise decision.
I'm with you on that.
