i feel that due to the lack of rumors flying around so close to MWSF 09 that there is going to be a really big "one more thing"... im not gonna lie... im getting really excited
What? iPhone rumors were aplenty right before release, if there's no rumors going round means there's either nothing of great importance going on, or nothing exciting will be released at MW, I'm going for the first one.
I see the logic in this: because no big leaks have happened, Steve Jobs is holding very close to his chest whatever he's going to introduce.
iPhone isn't a good example because it involved going outside the Apple campus to make it a reality. AT&T was involved, as were other providers who were in earlier talks.
Whatever is going to be talked about at MSWF is something that Steve considers important enough to make it Top Secret.
I had a theory that the lack of rumours might mean they working on something in a different area. Meaning that the usual sources haven't seen it. Perhaps if they were to make a TV it would come from different suppliers to the computers.
Obviously this is pure speculation, I think its more likely that the leaks have been plugged.
I thought this for another Apple conference a few months back. Turns out the event was a blow over and I was really disappointed. This was back when we all thought the new MacBooks were coming at any given day.
Considering Apple have shifted tactics with pretty much most of their recent launches i.e. pre announcing I don't think there will be much going on that we dont already know about.
Snow Leopard preview.
LED monitors for the rest of us.
Possible MacMini update.
I dont think MacPros will be updated until Nehalem is ready so nothing Pro will be happening.
Possible iLife / iWork updates.
HD TV shows in a few more countries.
I wonder how many heads rolled after the MB/MBP case leaks? Or the Nano leaks. I'm betting that Apple is going the extra mile to secure its secrecy this time around.
