Is there anything similar to this on Mac?
I'm looking at recording a Dance mix cd, I donn't need to change tempos or anyhitng like that Just need to splice together tracks change volumes etc.

Garage band will probalby do that. As long as you can convert your sound to whatever files Garageband uses (probably mp4, iTunes will do this if you can rip from a CD). If you're useing a lot of differnent file types (wav,aiff,mp3,mp4) with different sampling (bitrate) and frequency (typ 4.1khz) rates you might need something more robust like Peak.

peak, deck, cubase

I've heard peak is a good mac equavalent for sound file manipulation. Deck for mutitrack recording. Cubase is a good mac equvalent of cool edit for multitrack recording.

2013 Update. Logic Pro from Apple is now only $200. Amazing price. I spent hundreds more on older versions.
