Something that doesn't make sense about the iPhone for me

When you are watching a video (and the iPhone is in landscape mode) the volume controls are opposite of what the indicator on the screen is showing. What I mean is that if you press the buttons on the side, the up button actually faces the way the indicator would go for lowering the volume and vice versa for raising the lowering the volume.

Then I would have to tap the screen, bring up the controls, move the slider, and tap the screen again to hid the controls... all while covering the movie. The button on the bottom is just so much easier for quick volume adjustments.

I think it would be cool if the software switched the functions of the buttons so the right one puts it up and the left one puts it down, instead of the opposite as it is now.

You're not alone. This was brought up on other forums a while back.

The consensus is that people are used to switches, knobs, etc always working in the same direction (think laying in your bed looking over at a radio).
