Anytime I get down, which in this economy is more and more here lately, I always go back to my favorite bookmark:
Apple release iPod

I read through a couple lines of this and I think, I'm glad I bought Apple shares after seeing this...

I especially like this one:

Raise your hand if you have iTunes ...

Raise your hand if you have a FireWire port ...

Raise your hand if you have both ...

Raise your hand if you have $400 to spend on a cute Apple device ...

There is Apple's market. Pretty slim, eh? I don't see many sales in the future of iPod.

Hilarious to see Apple haters keep regurgitating the same thing about the iPod, iPhone, and the iPad. ;)

iPods don't need firewire ports you fail. You also fail about iTunes, iTunes is the biggest and most popular software in Windows and comes with every Mac. Go buy a Zune, oh I'm sorry I forgot.

I am with ya, but I am sorry. iTunes just sucks. It is blotted, slow and a pain in the butt most of the time. And by the way, I am not a Apple hater. I love the iPhone. But iTunes sucks for the most part. But you are right on the Zune and such.

I didn't say iTunes was good I said it was the most popular. I actually prefer the Zune software Microsoft made compared to iTunes in terms of look and feel. I am a DJ and I need iTunes as most DJ software integrates with iTunes that's probably the only reason I haven't begun using an alternative to iTunes.

Are you guys really that dim?

Yes, or they are so young as to be preverbal in 2001, WHEN THE REFERENCED THREAD WAS WRITTEN!

Although i give Consultant the benefit of the doubt and was probably pointing out that in 2001 the same arguments existed that have been used since. So puma1552 may have a fail here

This looked like a troll thread at first so I didn't bother reading the referenced thread. Thanks for correcting me and yes I'm 18 so I would of been around 9 at the time and I wasn't the smartest kid around back then.

Public shout out for the mea culpa. You are at 18 pretty mature and pretty smart to be apologizing in public.

Always read the referenced material. ;)

iTunes is at times frustrating. It is huge. But it's the best way I have found to manage my 30k song library in a manner that makes some sense. One man's bloat is another man's neccessity.

Wow. Really.
AAPL is up to $350, better hope they have ten times the iPod ideas in the immediate pipeline so that it's a profitable buy.
I don't write troll threads, not on Apple related subjects at least.
Who here had a Nomad? The electronic device, not a desert traveler.

I'm assuming he is talking about a Sega Nomad? If not I'm completely clueless and I worked at Circuit City back then so I'd assume I'd of came across a Nomad...

I don't know what this post was supposed to accomplish, apparently you didn't read the link or have no history on iPods. They did require firewire when the first model was released.

Creative Nomad Jukebox...it was creatives mp3 player for PC at the time when there was barely a market.

Mine is not slow or a pain, and there is only one complaint I have when adding lyrics u can't copy and paste into it.
