I have a speck in or around the Home button. I thought it was in the crack around the button, but it looks like it is actually under the button. It is small, but very annoying. Can the Home button be removed? What do I need to do to clean this out?

I got many of these on my first iPhone and on my iPhone 3G I have now. It's very annoying, but I haven't found a way to clean it anywhere online.

Any chance they would remove the home button at the Genius Bar? It's really starting to annoy me. Kind of like the dust under the screen issues I guess.

WTH are you people that seriously spoiled by the Apple Store that they would actually even consider replacing an iPhone for a speck of dust under the Home button without laughing in your face??!? It's a phone for f***'s sake, it was meant to be used and abused, it's not a museum piece. Get over it

It's called great customer service. If you're not satisfied, they make sure you are.

Tell the Apple store it was meant to be used and abused.

You're welcome to try, but I don't think they open up iPhones ever at the Apple store. They will either consider it replaceable and give you a new one, or not. Worth a try, but I'm sure they log this into the system under your name, so you might want to save the visit in case something worse happens.
