So my 3 year old son inserted a iphone 5 charger backwards into a firewire port on my mac 4,1 and the screen went blank. It is a mac pro 4,1 upgraded to 5,1 firmware. It wont start at all. No lights on the front or back. I tried an SMC reset nothing happened. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Possibly a short. Could have caused issues with the logic board if you were unlucky.

I'd try disconnecting the internal board that has the front i/o on it, see if that helps.

I have an 18-month old son. Your story gives me fresh motivation to install a deadbolt on the door to the room in my house where 3 computers are operating.

damn, those little destroyers - just leave them one minute out reach... mine broke my glasses a few weeks back.

sounds like a short - if you're lucky, it's just a popped fuse in the PSU, if you're unlucky, it's the logic board.
