iPod Songs from Old computer still on ipod?

Hey, i just got the new macbook air, and i synced my ipod up to it. But when i go to my ipod, it shows duplicates of every song that was on my old computer. The duplicates are not in my itunes library, or if i go and try to view the music on my ipod through itunes, it's empty. Any insight? I'm trying to do a factory erase right now.
