Sonic CD vs Sonic The Hedgehog

I say start with Sonic The Hedgehog if you've never played a Sonic game. I think Sonic CD is fun, colorful, and I love the music. However, it takes me 20 minutes to beat because it's too easy compared to the rest because the gameplay is a lot weaker compared to the others. The only real notable part of CD is the Stardust Speedway boss where you race against Metal Sonic. Although you might enjoy the Past and Future aspect of the game.
My rank of order of favorites are (you might wanna give them a go on an emulator, the ones you can't get in the App Store)
Sonic & Knuckles
Sonic The Hedgehog 3 (even better when you combine Knuckles to make it Sonic 3 & Knuckles

The two Sonic 4 episodes are good too. But they're just rehashes of the originals, minus the new stuff.
