Sonnet Allegro USB PCIe in 2008 3.1

I have 2 Sonnet Allegro USB PCIe that i pulled from my older 1.1 Mac Pro where they worked fine. I'd like to use them in my 2008 3.1 but the PCIe slots are a little different with 0ne 16x and 2 4x slots. Which slots should they go in? Any slot can do, slot 2 is preferable.

Card you provided use PCIe v1.0 interface. So you can use any free slot. Also there is no benefit to put it in v2.0 slot.

Mac Pro 3,1 (2008):

• Slot 1: PCIe v2.0
• Slot 2: PCIe v2.0
• Slot 3: PCIe v1.0
• Slot 4: PCIe v1.0
