I´m thinking of getting me one of these Tempo Pro and run RAID 0 with 2 180GB Intel 330.
But the card itself look rarther long, and I´m a little worried that it will be too long for my MP 2008.
Kindly request pictures if any one, is using the card with two SSD´s in a 2008 MP.

There's more space in there than you think...
Don't worry, it will fit...

twss...;)

Just note that for RAID 0 to work with that card, you need to install OSX on the RAIDED striped volume while the 2 SSDs are plugged into the standard Mac Pro SATA II backplane. Once OSX is installed, then you can place both SSDs on the PCI Card and boot from that no problems.

In a nutshell - Mac OS X's installer doesn't like installing to RAIDED drives while they're on the Sonnet Card.

The card fits in my Early 2009 MacPro4,1 but was quite a challenge getting it in. I had to remove a few SATA II drives from their sleds and a couple other PCI cards to get find the right angle for the installation. The card is quite long! 12.75 inches!

I don´t mind if I´ve to remove my HDD´s and VGA as long as it fit.
I´ll take a closer look tomorrow, when I install the 2 3,0GHz Xeons I received yesterday.
Still, a picture would be nice.

I´m aware of the installation process with the Tempo, as it was mentioned in another thread, thanks.

Edit: Took a closer look yesterday, while I was installing the 5472´s. I measured 34cm/13,4", so the space is there :) Even though it might be unhandy to install :)
