Updated both my Mac Mini M2 Pro and my MacBook Pro M1 Pro to Sonoma 14.3.

My MagicKeyboard, Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad are connnected to my Mac Mini. Via Universal Control I am using my input devices for the MBP as well. This worked fairly good until the update. Sometime I had connection issues but overall it worked great.

Since the update Universal Control is very unreliable. Nearly once an hour the connection is lost. It reconnects automatically after a few seconds but this is utterly nerving.

Anyone else has the same problems? Or even a solution?

Apparently, it's somehow related because I have some problems with the trackpad that I described in my topic

yeah I have filed many bug reports about this. I've always had problems with Universal Control with it only marginally getting better each release. Now I can expect to lose my mouse and keyboard on my MacBook Pro (M1 Max) which is being controlled by my Mac Studio (M1 Ultra) host at least once or twice per hour. I've also been beta testing all of the Sonoma releases and have been filing feedback reports, with zero replies coming back from Apple. So fed up with this right now. Opening another thread here: https://discussions.apple.com/threa...he_full_discussion-en-us-11282023&sortBy=best

I've had issues with it since day 1 and still do. Oddly enough, Sidecar works better now than ever. Very reliable and really never drops connection. Universal Control loses the connection multiple times per hour. Very frustrating.

Universal control has worked for "years" without problem. Then I "upgraded" to Sequoia and it's totally unreliable.

I use it between two identical (Intel) MBPs sitting beside each other. Bloody annoying.

Have to keep the "remote" MBP display settings showing and constantly turn off and on the "Allow your pointer and keyboard to move between any nearby Mac" to restore Universal Control.

I don't want to celebrate too early... but I updated to 15.3 yesterday. And today I did not have any disconnection for now! Working since about 4 hours already with UC with 2 Macs and no problems so far. Before I had a few disconnects already after this period of work.

I mean, the release notes stated they fixed bluetooth issues. So I have hope for now. Will see how it works the rest of the day.

It's still happening. I've been testing through all of the betas, including 15.3 and reported to Apple during each beta update. They basically ignore me now, no replies in the feedback tool. It is better, it disconnected maybe 3-4 times per day. I have to keep the Settings app open with Displays so when the connection breaks, that is the only way to force it to reconnect. Apple asked me for logs, and I've provided them several times including a special debug profile to collect even more data. So sad that Apple lets showstoppers languish like this for so long. I had to press them for years to fix the USB drive sleep bug.

Sad to hear.

For me it is very stable today. No single disconnect the last 5 hours. In that time I had at least 10 disconnects before. And did it like you described, kept the settings open. Sometimes trackpad and mouse lost connection completely for a few minutes.

Nothing happened until now. Well, let's see how it goes the next days.

So after a full 8hr working day (Germany here):

I had 2 disconnects in the afternoon. But disconnects of all BT input devices (keyboard, mouse, trackpad). Which lasts a few seconds. Afterwards also UC was working again, without me opening the settings.

So still not 100% good. But for 1000% better then before, then I had disconnects every hour. Let's see how the next days go.
