I'm new to Macs so pardon my ignorance. I am currently running the Sonoma beta on my new Macbook Air without any issues. When the official RC version comes out for update, do I first have to unenroll from the beta before updating or does RC update take care of that on it's own? Thanks.

The RC is out in the Developer world. When available to regular Beta users, the download and installation procedure will be the same as the Beta procedure. When available it will show in System Settings>General>Software Update.

Thanks for your reply. I understand how the updates work, I was just wondering if I have to unenroll from the beta before downloading the RC or if it will take care of itself when I update.

no, its up to you though you can update as normal or just carry on with the enrolment. You will still get updates as the same as everyone else.

The RC is part of the beta program. You can't install the current RC without being enrolled in the beta program.

When Sonoma is officially released, you can unenroll yourself from the Beta program. At that time, you will ONLY see future updates when they are publicly released.

In theory, if you have already installed the RC, you can unenroll yourself now. However, if Apple were to release and RC2, which is possible, you would not be prompted to install the upgrade.

If they release a RC2, it will be installed when the general release occurs.

I turned on beta to install the RC and then turned it back off.
