I'd like to share this cool project with you guys:
Could be a game-changer for people who dabble with large amounts of samples: in particular, music producers and sound designers?
The software will automatically classify your sounds according to dozens of categories, and pull off this amazing trick called similarity search: record yourself with a microphone, doing your best impression of any given sound, and use this to find similar sounds for substitution within your project.
OK, you don't have to use microphone input to benefit from similarity - you could use a guitar or or any old sample you have on your Mac for that matter. But recording a never-before heard sound and using that to locate other sounds definitely explains the concept very well.
