well is says that the pre-order from 1/29 and the will notify you be e-mail when it ships so its not finished yet.. But the specs look like something there could be in the next macbook pro (except for blue-ray..)

You can pre-order them now, but they do not start shipping until on or about the 29th (Which is Tuesday ;)) according to their order page.

All of that jazz in there and no 8800m? That could be quite the enthusiast laptop if they'd throw in a 8800m. Otherwise, with a 8600m trying to drive a full 1080p screen some games won't run so great.

I see your point.. atleast an 8700m. Right now i think only alienware ships laptops with 8800M GTX and their laptops are 1.30'' thick... i think its same to assume they can get to the 1 inch mark where they may fit into a MBP. The bigger issue would be heating.

Sager, who used to be one of Alienware's suppliers (and still continues to supply many others, like Dell) has their 17" laptops out with the 8800m.

Wow....look at the battery life on that thing. Standard battery gets 1.5-2 hours. That is just horrible. It is probably a great machine sitting on a power adapter hooked up to a nice plasma tv!
