Sony new tablet Z

Seems Sony just announced a new tablet, only for the Japanese market at the moment but im sure it will be released worldwide soon. Do you think its a good challenge to the ipad?

Any idea on price point? If it follows Sony's pricing scheme it will be over priced and people will opt for something less expensive.

Sony seem to be back on their prime design wise. Both the Xperia Z and Tablet Z have me interested.

I dont think they've mentioned pricing. The Xperia Z smartphone which debuted recently is priced around the same as iPhone 5 so I expect this will be priced the same as iPad or lower.

It does look nice, but I wonder how useful NFC is in a 10" tablet. I think the Samsung Galaxy also has NFC in their tablet as well.

I'd like to see how this is received in the US if they opt to sell it here.

I think manufacturers are moving towards replacing bluetooth with NFC for mobile devices, because its easier for consumers and uses less energy to power.

I think its more for quick file transfer between phone and tablet for example.
