I’ve just got the Sony A1 and when I import the .ARW raw files onto my MacBook the thumbnails aren’t showing in Finder and so I don’t know which files are which at a quick glance, does anyone know why this is please as I’ve not had it with my previous Sonys?

I’m running a 16” M1 Max Pro MacBook Pro using OS Monterey on the latest update. Preview can open and display the files.

Any help would be appreciated. Here’s what I’m seeing in finder.

I just ran a quick test using my Sony RAWs and what if you just temporarily change the default then change it back to previews? I have mine set to Lightroom Classic so my thumbnails show "LR", but when I changed it to Preview they started loading the photo as the thumbnail

Thanks, I’ll give that a try when back on my computer.

Does Monterey support the latest macOS raw conversion? I would think it would support A1 files, but I'm not sure. Maybe that came with Ventura.

That didn't work unfortunately

I'm not sure, I'll check. The A1 isn't that new a camera though.

This says the A1 should be supported, which they kind of are as they do open when I double click, they're just not showing thumbnails

I've solved it. I've restarted the computer and they're now showing 🙈
Glad you got it back working! I think us Mac users get too comfortable with rarely having to restart the systems :D I was actually just about to reply with have you either tried restarting finder or just restarting the computer if you didn't know how to restart finder.
