Okay you will want the following.

- Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter: Depending on the Mac Model these can also carry audio see the description for more details.

- Two HDMI Cables: Get whatever lengths you need. To reduce clutter I would get the shortest possible. You do not need a name brand it's a digital signal either it does or does not get through.

You may also want or need a Mini-TOSLINK to TOSLINK connector. I don't know how the MDP audio compares to the TOSLINK audio or if they are the same. They also have on the same page a MDP and TOSLINK to HDMI converter. Again I do not know if this would be better than feeding the TOSLINK directly to the stereo.

Edit: Although I would hook up a blu ray player to the TV. The video and audio quality of the Blu Ray will far exceed any heavily compressed file downloaded from the internet or being streamed. Any stuttering would be do to the speed of your internet connection, internet traffic in general, other tasks you have running or if the server is being overloaded.
