Sony TV and an Airport router

I have an airport router and backup drive that I recently purchased and a brand new SONY XBR that supposedly connects to my wireless system for movie downloads and special features. I cannot get it to connect either by wireless or hard wired. I called SONY and they told me they only support Cisco routers like the Linksys. Does anyone have a suggestion for making this connection? The unit is about 30 feet from the tv.

I would recommend going over to AVS Forum and looking for the topic on your model of TV (just about every device from a major manufacturer gets it's own thread). Those guys get into everything about their TVs (or whatever). Here's a link:
