Sony Xperia Z6 tablet! Will there ever be a new Sony tablet??

Since Sony did not announce Sony Xperia Z5 tablet at the end of last year and did not announce the Z6 tablet at MWC last month.

The Sony Xperia Z4 tablet is a BEAST of a Android tablet even after a year since it was announced but I think the tablet is definitely dull for a new update and some improvements which it is the Sony Xperia Z6 tablet!

But at the same time I have some doubts that Sony will stop making tablets completely(according to rumours) because of the tablet sales are declining which I really hope that is definitely not the case!!



So everyone when do you think the new Sony Xperia Z6 tablet will be announced?? Maybe at IFA 2016?? Or will there ever be a new Sony tablet??? Do you have a Sony Tablet??

For me in my opinion I think Sony tablets are way way better and definitely the BEST then any Android tablets out there even the high end ones like Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, Pixel C, Nvidia Shield K1 Tablet, more!!

I am still in love with my Z3 Compact tablet. Waterproof, microSD, fast beast, great screen. I don't game, and everything else works just fine on it.

I don't think Sony is going to make any more tablets. I hope to be proven wrong, because they're really good at it, but without Samsung-sized marketing budget they probably sold about 100,000 of the Z4s.

Yep this is exactly like a couple years ago in the PS Vita days when there was uncertainty if Sony was going to make a new portable game handheld, a successor to PS Vita and fast forward to 2014 or last year 2015 when they announced that won't be making any new portable game handhelds because of the impact of smartphones and tablets and to say a least I was not surprised by the news and the same time the portable game handheld market was(and still is) a declining rapidly!!!

I really hope Sony will continue making tablets(hopefully with Android) a least in the high end market!!!

I hate it how companies are just drifting away from the tablet market. It has a strong selling point, but nobody seems to be making an effort.

Very much doubt it. Sony have already stopped making the Z phones. They are unlikely to make another tablet that no one buys. Even a good selling tablet does not make anywhere near the profits of a good selling phone. They will concentrate on their phone products before being forced to call it a day.

I have both the Z3 and Z4 tablets and think they are great devices except for the plastic. However the Z4 in particular was absurdly priced especially in the uk where they forced you to buy the keyboard. So with a plastic shell and no marketing it was still priced higher than an iPad. They only have themselves to blame really. To have any chance of being successful the Z4 needed a metal shell and a RRP of around half to two thirds of their absurd RRP.

I have the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact and am deffo going to keep it. It's used daily and currently is my only tablet. But it's great and works well. I think I will get another tablet at some point but will keep the Sony, the Sony skin is great on it

Will they make another? Who knows I mean the Tablet Compact is certainly due an upgrade, but we have no rumours at all about it, let alone the Z4 Tablet which is a year ish newer than the Compact tablet.

I've given up on Sony devices, but I am really looking forward to the Sony Marshmallow update.

Z5 Compact + Marshmallow = heaven. I am not 100% sure if I want Marshmallow on the tablet though, as it runs 100% perfect with Lollipop. I think I will let others test it first

The one and only thing I would like in my Z3 Compact tablet is a fingerprint reader. Otherwise it's probably the best piece of hardware I own. Sorry Sony, I'm not upgrading unless you MASSIVELY impress me. Sony Pencil anyone?

It's an article that says nothing (they even mention "Nothing is really known about the Z6"). It's not even reciting a rumour. Ostensibly they're saying there's a trend based on what's happened in the last two years. But you can't build a trend on two data points. I suspect the real reason is just to write something to attract clicks from people searching for Sony Xperia Z6.

But seriously, the tablet market isn't growing and Sony barely registered a blip. If Apple and Samsung are struggling, chances are Sony sees the writing on the wall.
