Ok,

First off this is my first post and want to say hi to the community. I just bought a Iphone 3Gs last weekend. I am stoked and I love the phone. I have been looking for apps to download ever since I got my phone, lol.

So my question is how are app fee's paid? Is it a one time fee only, pay monthly, or anything else? For example, Camera Genius is the top paid app at $0.99. Do I have to pay that monthly on my att bill or can I get an Itunes card and pay it on a one time fee?

I know this might sound dumb but I want a definitive answer. I do not want my bill to be too high, lol.

Thank a Million for any help

The actual app is a onetime payment. They can however require subscriptions for content within the app and that is done through the company and not through ATT.

Hi and welcome :)

The price on the App store is in the vast majority of cases the end price, one time only and no further outlay. With most future updates provided free.

Occasionally you will find an App that requires further ongoing payment or subscription but this should always be detailed in the App's listing on the iTunes store - if it isn't detailed (i.e. the developer is trying to pull a fast one) you will very quickly hear about it in these very forums.

There is also scope for some Apps to have certain features for the advertised price but offer additional for a further fee done via 'in App purchasing'.
An example might be a game where once you had completed the first 6 levels, you get the option to purchase additional levels for that game.

I've also seen on occasions a few apps where after several free updates, the developer builds a major 'game changing' update and requires payment for provision of said update - in this case they will usually spin it off into a seperate App and now have two Apps the old one and the new one.

Apple does also have a rule apparently that free Apps should remain free.

But generally speaking once paid for on the App store an App is yours with no ongoing costs unless expressly stated.

Hope that helps
