many threads about MBA C2D and the "rumored" MBA SB.

I dont live in US so the prices on Mac here is quite higher than the states so it might not sound like a good offer to you but here it is:

I can buy a used MBA Ultimate (used 5 months) for 1675 USD
where a new MBP 13 cost 1500 USD

Considering the rumors about a new MBA is this deal "good" enough? Only 175 usd difference

If the deal is not really a deal then I would chose the MBP simply because it is a new model with SB.

It is not really about whether I will benefit from the new SB in MBA or not but more about that I might be able to buy the new MBA with the same specs (as the current ultimate) for the same price ( I expect memory will be 4 GB standard in the new MBA)

Thanks in advance

For a 6-month used air, even the ultimate one, I would say that is most definately 'NOT' a deal.

I always marvel at the prices some people expect for their macs. I mean, I know they retain their value better than other computers, but to try to sell a used machine that's maybe $50 bucks off a new price seems ridiculous to me.

Um, a new ultimate is 1,924.93 (7% sales tax). Hardly 50$ off.

He has converted them for your ease. Which was perhaps a mistake.

If you consider that in the UK, a 13" MBA Ultimate is equivalent to $2479 USD, then $1675 USD is a good deal. But you need to have your original retail price before we can tell if it is a good deal!

Yes sorry. Price for new is 2200 USD here. So a decent rebate but is it good considering a new might come out?

Only you can decide for yourself whether the 2010 "ultimate" model will be good enough for you, or whether the potential SB model will be better.

Do you hope play any intensive games on your MBA? (other than Farmville, etc...) If so, you'll probably benefit from the 320m vs. the SB IGP.

Do you hope to do processor-intensive stuff on your MBA like Video Encoding, or Photoshop, etc...? If so, then the SB MBA will probably benefit you more.

It all depends on what you specific usage will be - and that's something only you know.
