I sort my music in iTunes by "Album by Year," which is great since an artist and all of his/her albums are together in chronological order.

I run into a problem if there are two albums for the same year.

For example:

1 June 1967 - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
27 Nov. 1967 - Magical Mystery Tour

iTunes obviously places the latter before the former since the latter starts with an "M," and there is only a place for the year (not the month and date).

Is there a way to fix this? It is obnoxious.

I also hated this, I remember The Beatles MMT/SPLHCB one specifically.

I now have my entire library sorted by release date. I can even search by release date. Check out my post on this here

Finally my itunes library is sorted the same way as my CD's are on my shelf!

Theoretically you can arrange your library any way you like by using the sort album field.
