Sorting tip needed for Apple Music

I'm thinking about subscribing so just wanted to see if this is possible.

I want to upload/match my music as my favourite artists/personal recordings.

I want a playlist for artists I like so I can listen to their music but they are not in my main music library.

Is this possible to do?


My current situation is I manually throw on my favourite artists using iTunes and I have spotify for all the artists I follow. I'm wondering if Apple Music will provide a better solution.

Unfortunately as of right now Apple Music adds any song you add to a playlist to your main music library. It's a pain because it leads to a messy library very quickly if you're making playlists with tracks from Apple's library. Spotify started out this way but due to user feedback changed it so that you can make playlists independently of your library. Hoping AM follows soon.

Thanks for that! It's only info you get from a seasoned user. I'm sticking with spotify for now until AM matures a little more.
