So I installed Windows Vista on my MacBook, but I do not have the OSX DVD readily available (it's in Texas, and I'm in Mississippi for at least two more weeks). I'd like to be able to have sound on my Windows side, but I don't know what to do! Thanks in advance for an help.

You can find them on the internet. Just search for them

Well at least you weren't vague =P

I'm not 100% sure if they have the same sound chip as the MBPs but it's worth a shot. Download the Realtek drivers (this is what you'd do to get sound if you have a MacBook Pro). Select the first option on that page (HD audio codecs), and then install the driver called "Vista, Windows7 Driver(32/64 bits) Driver only (Executable file)". Report back!

Haha sorry, I mean search engines are a powerful tool and a little digging around finds you a whole range of options to choose from. I have found torrents that contain them (not sure if that is legal or not ). And you could also do what you suggested and search for just the sound drivers and get those. It's just a matter of doing a little research.

I actually have an MBP (June 2009); I guess I should have been more clear. I tried to downoad the Realtek drivers, but now it says I have no audio device installed. I even had to manually associate the drivers with the device because MS wanted to use its own drivers (precisely why I bought a Mac!). In short, I downloaded the drivers but it still doesn't work. In fact, it's like the problem has regressed

The mid 09 released Macbook Pros have Cirrus Audiochips you'll have no luck in finding drivers online. Also the mic won't work if you had the drivers.

Anyway, you could give this (scroll down to jimstrer 32's post) a try... if you are running Vista 32, won't work with 64...
