I am on my 3rd Macbook Pro. The first had a dead pixel dead center, the second had bad VRAM and the third has what is clearly an unbalanced/distorted right speaker. It also periodically makes a strange sound from the area of the hard drive. The drive seems fine, in terms of spinning. But every so often, I hear a weird sound -- it is not quite a clicking, but it seems more like something rolling to a stop. There doesn't appear to be anything loose inside it, at least as far as I can tell from a slight shake. I don't know if this is the early symptom of a hard drive failure or whether it is something relating to the 7200 rpm hard drive. Either way, I am thinking of taking it down to the Apple Store for an examination.

Couldn't hurt to take it to an Apple store, but does it sound anything like a marble being dropped on a table? That noise is normal every now and then.
