So I have a Boot Camp partition in which I run XP Pro. Whenever I use the volume keys on my Macbook (White 2.4GHz 2GB RAM 160GB HD), the first level of volume is really loud, and as I keep clicking the volume up, the volume keeps getting louder and louder (as it should lol). The first level of volume is equivalent to the volume of about the 7th or 8th level in OSX. I've tried messing with the volume controls in XP (the Realtek Audio dialogue), but I cannot find anything. This is a really annoying thing, as I have external speakers with no external volume control, so I need to be able to control the volume from my computer, and since the volume in XP is so loud, I usually leave the sound off. This is very annoying since I usually listen to pandora or something on the XP side. If anybody has a solution to this problem or a program I can download to manage the sound for me, please post!! Thanks!

Do you have all the latest drivers installed?

Have you tried adjusting the volume from within the program you are using to listen to music with?

Have you tried just using Windows' volume control utility? If that isn't in your task bar, it should be in control panel under volume.

Yes I do have all the latest drivers installed (as far as I know-they came on my Leopard installer disk 1) and the built-in Windows volume utility somewhat works, although I have to put it at the very lowest setting possible in order to listen to music. I guess what I want is this: for the volume keys on my macbook keyboard to work like they do in OSX and not have to deal with the Windows utility whenever I want to adjust the volume.
