I rented my first movie on the Apple TV this past weekend and had a big problem with the sound. There was a popping of thumping sound that seemed to be coming out of the center channel speaker throughout the movie. I rented "The Assassination of Jessie James" in HD and the [picture quality was outstanding, but the sound issue was very distracting. It was not so bad that we could not watch the movie, but it was noticeably there and did bother the crap out of me. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I thought maybe there was a problem with me speaker hook up, but all of the other Movies I have worked fine.

Any advice on this? Do you think Apple will give me a refund or credit for the crappy sound that I got with this? Is there anything that can be done on that end? Just some thoughts.

I haven't had this exact issue, but I do have a sound problem on rented movies when using the Ipod composite TV out cable. Basically the volume is very low compared to video I create myself.

Even when TV volume is full it's only just loud enough to hear.

Not sure what is going on with rental movies?
