sound not working from top

when i use my phone, i can only hear anything if i am in speakerphone. i can not hear anything out of the normal place atop the . i have been running unlocked in both 1.1.1 and 1.1.3 neither works

what can i do?

Hey there. Don't fret. Chances are that you're experiencing what many users have commented on. If you remove your headphones jack quickly while your phone is "playing" audio, the switch to then turn the speaker back on can fail to trigger. There have been several postings on this issue. I've experienced this myself and have fixed it in two ways. One: by quickly plugging in and removing the headphone jack (this is so lame and takes a few tries to get it to work) Two: take a Qtip and cut all the the very base of the cotton part off with some sharp scissors and clean out your headphone jack hole (that almost sounds dirty). Both have worked for me.

EDIT: Pulling headphones out fast while listening to music fixed the problem. i had actually never heard of this problem before it happened to me.
