I've been playing around with sound streaming stuff but at the moment I'm only able to test on the simulator. I've noticed quite a few problems, glitches, clicking and popping etc.

Would I be right in thinking that the audio playback performance is probably quite compromised on the simulator?

When using audio queues, I get clicks and pops and missing record input on the simulator that don't occur on the iPhone. So I just ignore them.

The much bigger difference is that DSP and audio software can run 10 to 100 times faster on the simulator, so you have to performance tune on the device.

Yep, using audio queues. That's reassuring....I guess :)

Good point about the performance, I hadn't thought of that.
