Hi...seems my iMac 1.8 1.5 G RAM is not responding to the volume settings, Ive gone into System Prefs and even in there it is frozen!??
Ive run permissions and TechTools...all seems fine, but the slider and volume buttons are frozen...and I am hearing a slight hum from the computer...?
Temp is fine as well...!
Can anyone help...thank you

The Ivory Tower (I'm not coming down)
Hmm, that sounds quite strange- never heard of the volume button being stuck before. I know it sounds condescending, but do you have headphones plugged in somewhere? That's happened to me a couple of times. I'd reset the PRAM first (restart, hold down command+option+p+r until you hear the chime 3 times) and if that doesnt work call Apple.
