Anyone else having problems with the sound? My volume changer is greyed out. I can "fix" it by un plugging and re-plugging the speaker plug but thats not exactly ideal, it just stops working again after some time..

Did you check that you have right sound device in use?

For me Yosemite chose HDMI display's speakers instead the speakers connected to headphone port. And when it was using the display's speakers the volume changer was greyed out.

You're right - it had changed to HDMI as default sound output! I hope this fixes it.

Thanks! This solved my problem too.
