Ok... so im ripping my dvd using mtr then hand break.... all the setting are where i was advised to set them... but the play backs are.... well dull sounding...muffled and real low. Cant figure it out...

using:
avc/h.264video/ aac+ ac3 audio
bitrate 160
sample rate 48
upped the drc to 1.77

HELP

drc

Are you experiencing this on your Mac or on your AppleTV?

Your DRC (Dynamic Range Compression) is taking all the volume fluctuations out of the audio. So the loud parts and quiet parts are at a similar volume.

I don't use DRC, so I am assuming that that is the cause of your problem.

Hey there... im using my mac... the reason im using the drc is because the vocals are soft and the explosions (for example) are way loud... it has helped a bit but not much. Could this be happening because Im watching the movies with no surround sound?
