I noticed the sound from a 15" MBP late 2013 is worse than that from an iPad Mini 5th generation, even though the MBP music is boosted with Boom 3d. The MBP sound is flat and unpleasant, that from the iPad is acceptable and much cleaner. Have other people had similar experiences?

To be honest your MBP is almost 10 years old, and didn’t have great speakers to begin with. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if a new iPad sounded better

Yes, of course, I agree, but honestly I would expect better sound from a once top MBP.

compare a top of the range TV from ten years ago to a mid-range model today. The newer one will win by miles. Technology advances. And what was once the best is now just ok.
