Hi Everybody,

I have an MP3 with very low volume; does anyone know of an [OS X] application that would enable me to raise the volume? Thanks

Bill

Well, any sound application, should be able to help you.

Look at www.Versiontracker.com for a shareware app that can boost the gain as you ask.

The rub is exporting it from Quicktime (not iTunes) to an .aiff (.aif) file.

Bring it into your Sound app.

Raise the gain (should be in a DSP menu)

Save it.

Drang and drop back to iTunes to make an mp3 of it.

Remember, the mp3 compression is destructive. Meaning that when you compress to mp3, you lose data. So you lose fidelity with each generation. Try not to do this much.
