hi there,
since i upgraded to ml i have troubles with my sound/video mostly on youtube.
i have an iMac 27 mid 2011 i7

ok if i watch youtube videos in hd after about 3 - 7 videos (think about 15 minutes) the sound an the video begins to stuck and you are unable to watch a video smoothly.
then i need to reduce the quality to watch the video smoothly.

does anyone have a similar problem like me?
could it be a cache problem?

thanks for replies

edit: so it doesn't matter if its high or low quality. i think the major point is, if its fullscreen or not. regularly i can watch a youtube video about 2 - 5 minutes, after that it begins to stuck till i leave fullscreen view.

I'm having the same problems, not just with YouTube videos though.

I also have a 2011 fully loaded i7 iMac so system requirements are not an issue.

I have stuttering music on iTunes, stuttering video on YouTube that eventually results in a complete crash of the system and processing images in Photoshop CS6 causes the computer to slow and eventually die.

Really not impressed. Hope a fix is released soon (

i didn't get fixed it.
did things link http://youtu.be/Sc0uQsHMyCU
but nothing happend.
furthermore i recognized that it's not depending if its a youtube hd or sd video is. sd takes longer, so i though it could be a problem with my hdd space but i have enough.
moreover i noticed the % of the cpu goes up during the "stucks" the plugin shockwave for chrome/firefox goes up to 40 - 50 % and the thread firefox/chrome goes up as well to 30% ... on a i7 imac? thats not normal...

does anyone have a idea what can we do?

greetings

Flash is a resource hog, and is notorious for bad performance on macs.

I would recommend something like YouTube5, which converts all flash on youtube to play on the native html5 video player. Much smoother, no flash.

Check out ClicktoFlash as well.

From looking in a few places, it seems ML has issues with YouTube and I've been experiencing these, though it's intermittent.

What's happening for me is that videos will load the first minute or two very quickly, and then when I've "caught up" with the buffer, the video will stop playing. Then if I refresh the video, it will quickly buffer the next minute or two, before again catching up with the buffer and stopping.

It's doing the same on Flash and HTML5 and I know it can't be my internet connection because the same videos stream fine on my iPhone and on a Windows laptop all using the same wifi...

Not sure if my issues are similar to the above, but this was the closest topic I could find through the search.
