Does anybody know if it is possible to add additional loops to Garageband such as the loops you can buy for Soundtrack.
Thanks
jon

I wasn't in SF last week, but my educated guess would be that the format of the loops is the same in both apps. In Soundtrack you can index any directory containing those loops. Why not import ~/Documents/Soundtrack Loops/ into GarageBand?

I'd also guess that both Loops collections have a fair bit in common...

GarageBand and Soundtrack

Concerning these two products, if you want to use GarageBand loops in Soundtrack you would index to HD/library/Application Support/GarageBand. I have not yet tried to get my Soundtarck loops in GarageBand but I believe if they were placed in your loops folder seen above then you would be able to access them in GarageBand. But that is just my educated guess.

To use ST loops in GB you have to move the loops to /Library/Application Support/Garage Band/Apple Loops and then drag them to Garage Band's Loop Browser (bottom left part of the window). GB will then index them and you can use them in GB. If you want to use them in SoundTrack you will have to tell ST the new location.

Though I haven't used GarageBand or Soundtrack yet, I think you can use the (free) Apple Loop Utility to make your own loops from sound files.
