I was just thinking to my self.. How does the source engine being ported to mac affect mods?
Would they be playable right off the bat, or would they need to be updated/recompiled?
Technically they should work, as they are just mods of the game code, and not the engine code.

Any one know if this has been brought up on the steam forums or any where else??

The Source SDK, including the OpenGL Source codebase, will be coming to Mac OS X. [9]
Non-binary Mods (Mods which are just map packs, skins, etc.) should work on day 1. (E.g Portal: Prelude)
Mods which use custom binaries will need to be ported to Mac. (E.g. Dystopia)
