You realize the iPad needed approval by the FCC before being released in the U.S. too. Its just it was done prior to its release in that country.
Korea has the same restrictions and their regulations require review before allowing these devices to be used. It would seem a bit heavy to not allow single users to use a device (while limiting the sale of devices until a full review was complete).
I was concerned because I will be travelling to Seoul later this summer/fall and wasn't sure they would allow me to bring it in country and use it. The recent news gives me relief that it will be possible to use while travelling. It was one big reason why I bought the iPad as the long flight and international travel makes the smallest/lightest and best performing for me is the iPad.
