Months ago I posted that every time I would scroll up or down on my Surface Pro 3, the charms bar would appear. Now that I've upgraded to Windows 10 and there no longer is a charms bar, scrolling with my finger now pulls in the notification pane/action center.

I've Google how to make it go away and nothing seems to work. I've tried editing the registry and no luck there. Any ideas here? This is making me want to smash it on the floor.

I remember that, it acted like there was a screen defect. I'm assuming you are talking about scrolling somewhere in the middle of the screen, not near any edge? That behavior is totally not software, there aren't even any places you can change that as a setting like iOS has with spotlight.

Run, don't walk and have that SP3 exchanged, it's still within the manufacturer warranty.

Yes, there are times when I just tap on a link to open it and the charms open. I bought it around Thanksgiving so I still have a warranty left. I downgraded back to 8.1 for the time being because the problem seems to come and go with it.

There are three MS stores near me, all in malls. Guess I'll pick the easiest one to get to.

For anyone that has a problem with the touch screen not working as it should, download the sony touch screen calibration tool. It was recommended to others on the surfaceforums.net site and it has completely fixed my problem. I've been using my SP3 all morning and not had the charms come up once no matter where I touch the screen.

I'm going to give this a try. I have a VERY weird issue where there is a square about 1" x 1" in my top left side of my screen that at time is completely dead to touch. It happens randomly and I simply have to log off and log back on and it's gone. What's weird is that I've had it with about 6 surface pro 3's that I kept exchanging through warranty. My old surface pro 3 went to my business and I just bought a brand new one, and it does it too. Weird.

It's worth a try. My SP3 is now the way it should have been from the beginning. Let me know how it works out.
