For seemingly no reason at all today my iPhones touch screen or software is acting up. In texting and email and googling the space bar, number button, and anything on the bottom row doesnt work at all. in landscape mode they do work. but unfortunitly you cant do text messages and email in landscape mode. but the odd thing is that in the browser buttons on the bottom like bookmarks and back and forward work. and they are in the exact same space as the space bar and other buttons. tried restoring no luck. i also noticed that it takes more pressure to activate the home button than normal. anybody?

Take it back and exchange. Sounds strange that the home button also isn't working.

It sounds like you have a "dead strip." A good way to test this is to go to your contacts list and scroll your finger from the very top to the very bottom. If there is a dead strip, the contacts will stop scrolling when it reaches it.

I had this problem after 11 months of use on my iPhone. I took it to an Apple store, and they swapped it out with a brand new one, no questions asked.

I have the same problem.

I cannot access the 123 button, spacebar button and return button when in SMS, email, to perform password unlock and notes. The lower area is not dead permanently. When in contacts I can use the entire lower area to click on voicemail, keypad, etc. So it is not a hardware issue. Rather a software issue that only appears in certain instances.

This is making my phone useless if i cant text, etc. I have tried restoring and it has not fixed the problem.

Please help!!!!!!!

I would take it in and have a genius look at it. At the very least they can tell you if it is a known issue or not. They're very good about replacements etc.
