I am about to get my 3rd SG SW in 13 months. My second one is going the same way as the first, starting to corrode.
3 things;
1) I am assuming its my sweat that is causing the corrosion - it started on the black apple logo - turning it white other characters followed then spread to the strap slots making it tough to swop the straps. Apple UK 'begrudgingly' replaced the first with talks about 'cosmetic'. With the second one starting to go the same way Apple have responded better agreeing to change it on the second chat call. Has any one else had this? Straps are Sports watch ones.
2) Has anyone had this with Stainless steel versions? I asked Apple UK to allow me to pay the difference and swop out for an SS one as a blog last year suggested Apple US did - Apple UK Store refused.
3) Has anyone any advice on how to prevent this happening to the SG SW? Thanks

The Apple logo and lettering rubbing away is a known defect on the AW Sport, and should be covered under warranty. It doesn't have anything do to with sweat/corrosion.

The SS doesn't have this problem because the letterings are engraved rather than printed on like you find on the Sport.

Thanks Jay - that explains the lettering - any views on the corrosion in the strap slots?
