I was wondering if Spacial Audio is worth it for movies? Thinking of grabbing some AirPods Max and would watch a lot of movies on my iPad and iPhone.

Can you really hear surround around you? How about above? I tried them out in the Apple store watching Greyhound a bit but the volume was very low. I’m guessing maybe they limit the volume on them there. Only thing I noticed was when you turn your head, the audio stays in front. That was kinda gimmicky and I‘m more interested in a surround like experience.

No, the sound still comes from the left and right. The only part of it that's spatial is when you turn your head. It pots the center back and forth to left and right. I don't think it's possible to get true surround sound out of headphones without custom calibration to your own ears and head. The only thing that does that is the Smyth Realiser.
