They seem to have the right idea with iPad mobile internet in Spain.

Movistar network is owned/run by Telefónica, which also owns/runs O2.

If you have a €25+ tariff on an iPhone or any other smartphone (unlimited data, reduced speed after 1GB per month), you get a free second microSIM to use in your iPad as part of the tariff.

Much better deal than Orange UK are offering, as far as I can see!

"Los clientes de Movistar que ya dispongan de un iPhone u otro smartphone de Movistar con tarifa plana de datos 25 ó 39 euros, y compren un iPad, podrán solicitar de forma gratuita una segunda tarjeta SIM -en este caso el nuevo formato de tarjeta microSIM- para usarla y conectarse a Internet con su iPad"

I hope this comes to the UK, this would easily convince me to pre order a 3G rather than Wifi. I hope O2 come out with the press release before i click the pre order button on monday morning!

This would be excellent if it came to the UK. I think even though telefonica/movistar owns O2 they keep their businesses quite separate. I was thinking of changing my iphone contract to vodafone so this could keep me with o2. i wish they would let us know before the pre orders open.!

Was rather hoping we would know the O2 tariff before pre-orders start, but that isn't going to happen. Not that it's going to affect which model I choose, but still would have been nice. Not too keen on the Orange tariff, and I kinda like O2. Here's hoping we get something like stated in the OP.

Neil.

Edit: One good thing with it being unlocked and no contract is, we can swap and change what provider/tariff we use as they change and get more competitive.
