Hi guys,

Kinda frustrated that the native Mail app on Mac OS X requires the Mail app to be open for you to receive notifications in the Notifications Centre for new mail received. I'd rather not have the full Mail app open in the background hogging up memory when a simple background daemon could listen out for any new notifications and give you a simple notification when you receive new mail.

I've been looking into the Spark app for Mac and was wondering whether the app is able to fill this void and send push notifications of new mail without having to have the app open?

Would be grateful if any Spark users here would be able to let me know.

Alternatively, if anyone has any suggestions as to any email clients that can do this, it would be great.

Thanks! :)

Yes, Spark has not to be open to receive notifications but sometimes it does not work (at least in the beta I have installed). And I am missing some things but they answered me they are working on it.

Just try it. It's free.
