Back in the spring, I bought the SpeakEasy Voice Recorder app for my iPhone. I also downloaded the free SpeakEasy Connect software from the developer's website, to transfer audio files created with the voice recorder app, from my iPhone to my mac. A few months later, Apple updated the iPhone software. Once this occurred, SpeakEasy Connect could no longer transfer files. I emailed Zarboo.com, the developer, and they told me they were working on a fix. I emailed them every few weeks for six months and they kept responding that it was taking longer than they expected, but it should be ready soon. Then, a few weeks ago, they emailed that they were coming out with a new version of the voice recorder software and there's no way to transfer my files made with the current version from my iPhone to my computer. I now have dozens of audio recordings on my iPhone that I'd like to transfer to my computer. Any suggestions?

SpeakEasy Connect, trouble transferring files

I'm in a similar boat. There are 2 options:

1. From within the Speakeasy recorder iPhone app you can turn on WiFI which will give you an IP address from which the audio files can be downloaded from iPhone to computer via a web browser. That gives you the .caf format of the files but does not allow access to the .wav versions the Speakeasy Connect application permitted downloading.

2. You can run an audio cable from the iPhone's headphone jack to a computer or other recorder, play the audio files back in real time and record the audio on the computer or other device.

I am also sorry to see this app go. It did have better signal quality. The company should have notified users that this software would no longer be supported, even if they had to put out a custom update to the app that said "You will no longer be able to upload using Speakeasy Connect." Not exactly considerate of their users.

Good luck!

A better option to transfer files from iPhone, iPad or iPod

I was stuck exactly with the same problem with Speakeasy. I was finally able to solve it by using iBrowse or iFunBox in order to transfer files directly from the device to the computer.

Both are free and both are for Mac and PC. The device does not even need to be jailbroken. It works great! Enjoy!
