I just got my screen replaced at apple today because of the gap issue on the phone. Sadly the new screen just moved the gap to the top instead of bottom. Even worse it seems the Speaker Grill is loose and can be moved around the top gap pretty effortlessly. I can stick paper in the gap under the grill too.

Does anyone have any idea how the Grill is attached and if anyone has this issue.
I have already been to the apple store 3 times first time was from the screen clicking and then the screen gap twice. The employees seem mad at me and one of them gets rude when I mention all the imperfections. Also I have AppleCare.

Take it back to Apple or contact Apple support, no one here can do anything for you... If you open the phone to try and repair the grill you'll give them a reason to deny any claim of a defect
I don’t understand how brand new screen can be loose like that maybe because of the gap at the top it’s just supposed to move around because as far as I know the speaker grill is not even adhered to anything

Not sure how it's attached but, you can take the phone to any Apple store for repairs and maybe you could receive better service at a different location. You could also contact Apple support to see what your options are. They might suggest you send the phone in so they can determine if you should just receive a replacement device instead of repairing your existing phone or repair it properly

I don’t have any other apple stores near me. The only other option is to ask for an express replacement and hope they can waive the credit card hold since I don’t have enough funds

now i see it

I’m a firm believer in the idea that if you want a near flawless or flawless iPhone, purchase a genuine Apple refurbished iPhone instead of a new one.

The refurbished phones get way more quality control and careful inspection prior to sale, while the new iPhones are rushed out/stamped out in the millions to meet demand.
A lot of 2nd tier new iPhones slip through the cracks and get sold to customers

Well if you explain your situation and the numerous times you've tried to have the phone repaired maybe they can give you a break. Of course that's up to the service rep or their supervisor but it doesn't hurt to ask

Yeah I spoke to the supervisor last time and he assured me they can’t replace devices for repairable issues.

Ironically enough the apple replacements are reverbs and that’s the current phone I have with issues and it was fine until I had to get the screen replacement

Did you end up having the case opened for future service? Remember, all Apple work done has a 60 day warranty period (or was it 90 day?) so don't let the issue lapse too long.
Only opened to replace the screen. I am not even sure if the grill bring loose is normal so I figured I might live with it

Speaker grills protect from dust, so if there is any that's magnetic that gets in there, it can get stuck in the magnets degrading sound.
The gap would be at the top even if the speaker was solid the only difference it makes is a gap at the bottom of the grill too
