Ma
I have'nt read anywhere does this have a speaker built in ?

Never ceases to amaze me how lazy people can be, instead of a thread being made you could have looked up the specs at Apple website or scrolled down a few threads to see there is already a discussion on it, so bloody lazy.

I wonder that myself, but is it really lazy?

Making a thread is taking more effort to got to www.apple.com, click the iPad and then the Technical Specifications page and scroll and read a bit.

Or maybe not. I don't know. But it happens often, whether in real life or on the 6u.

It's one of the lesser problems of life, like proper spelling and such.

Considering there is a thread on the speaker 10 threads down I'd call it lazy.

But, but, but.

Ahhh, I'm too lazy to give a proper rebuttal.

And I learnt something new today:
ORIGIN mid 19th cent.: from Anglo-Norman French rebuter (from Old French rebut ‘a reproach, rebuke’ ) + -al .

please no iPhone first gen speaker

The speaker in the first iPhone was horrible. I am still surprised Apple released such a weak speaker. I guess Apple didn't realize that the speaker would get that much use.

There has been no review on the speaker and that is a concern for me. Sure it will be mono but I want to be able to hold it at arms lenght and hear it.

;);) Would be nice if the person sitting several chairs over hears and wonders "what is that guy holding there" :):):)

There's been no reviews on ANYTHING about the iPad yet, because (nearly) no one has one. In one or two of the "preview" pieces done after the announcement, people commented that the speaker was loud enough to be heard over the din of the crowd, which is probably pretty decent in terms of volume. Quality is something else, but we'll find out soon enough, I suppose.
